Terms of Service
Last updated:
The short version
- Chainsworn is free to play and still growing. Things will change, and a preseason ends with a fresh start.
- You can buy a season pass, a supporter pack and cosmetics. They belong to your account; a refund takes them back.
- Play fair: no cheating, bots or exploiting bugs. Pick a decent name.
- Items, gold, ratings and titles are for the game only and have no money value.
- You can stop playing and delete your account whenever you like.
1. About these terms
Chainsworn (“the game”) is operated by “Hypeform” Ltd („Хайпформ“ ЕООД), UIC/EIK 206467190, registered seat Mladost 4, bl. 480, entr. 1, fl. 1, apt. 3, 1715 Sofia, Bulgaria (“we”, “us”).
These terms apply to Chainsworn on the web at chainsworngame.com and in the iOS and Android apps. By playing, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t play.
2. A game that changes
Chainsworn is under active development, and played in seasons. That means:
- balance, items and rules will change, sometimes a lot;
- there may be outages and bugs;
- the preseason ends with a fresh start: its characters are archived (kept, but no longer played) and everyone begins again at level one. What your account holds, such as cosmetics, titles and what you bought, stays with it;
- when a season ends, its characters move on to the realm of the Undying and keep what they carry.
3. Purchases
Chainsworn is free to play. In the iOS and Android apps you can also choose to watch an advert, from Google AdMob, for a little energy; the website has none (the Privacy Policy says what Google collects). You can buy:
- a season pass: the premium track of the season pass for the season in which you buy it, on all your characters in that season. It ends with that season; what you claimed from it stays yours;
- a supporter pack, once: no adverts, their energy every day, and the higher energy cap;
- both together, at a lower price;
- cosmetics from the Tailor, which change only how your character looks.
What you buy belongs to your account, not to a device, and goes with every character on it.
- Prices are shown in the game before you buy, in your currency, with any VAT or sales tax included.
- In the apps, Apple or Google sells and takes the payment, under their own terms; refunds are theirs to give, under their refund policies (on iPhone, reportaproblem.apple.com).
- On the website, we sell, and the payment is taken by Stripe through RevenueCat’s checkout. For a refund, write to support@ampstack.dev.
- Right of withdrawal. What you buy is digital content, delivered at once. If you are a consumer in the EU, you agree to that delivery when you buy, and you lose your 14-day right of withdrawal once it is delivered. This does not affect your rights if something you bought is faulty or does not arrive.
- Refunded purchases are taken back: a refunded pass or pack ends, and a refunded cosmetic leaves your account.
- Use Restore purchases in Settings (in the apps) if something you bought on your store account is missing, for example on a new account after reinstalling.
- A child’s account is never offered anything to buy (section 5).
4. Your account
- An account is for one person. Don’t share, sell or buy accounts.
- You are responsible for keeping your sign-in safe (your Google or Apple account, or your email and password).
- Your first character starts on an anonymous account that lives on one device. If you haven’t secured it and you lose the device or clear your browser data, the character can be lost, and we may not be able to recover it. Securing your account in the game protects against this.
5. Children
Players under 16 play on a child’s account, which never asks for an email, never offers Google or Apple sign-in to the child, never shows an advert and never sells anything. A parent or guardian is responsible for their child’s use of the game, and can secure the child’s character with their own Google account or email address. See the Privacy Policy for details.
6. Fair play
Chainsworn is a competitive game, so please don’t:
- cheat;
- exploit bugs. Please report them to us instead;
- use bots or any other automation to play;
- attack or overload the service;
- reverse engineer the game to gain an advantage;
- impersonate our staff.
7. Character names
Other players see your character’s name, so names must not:
- be offensive, hateful or sexual;
- impersonate someone else;
- contain personal data (yours or anyone else’s), such as a real name, phone number or address.
8. Renames, suspensions and appeals
If a character or account breaks the rules in sections 6 or 7, we may rename the character or suspend (freeze) the account. If you write to us, we will tell you why. You can appeal a suspension by writing to support@ampstack.dev.
9. Virtual items
Gear, gold, cosmetics, ratings, titles and everything else you earn or buy in the game have no monetary value and cannot be exchanged for money or sold. They are licensed to you for use in the game; you don’t own them.
10. The service “as is” and our liability
Chainsworn is free to play, and provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited.
Nothing in these terms limits your mandatory rights as a consumer, or any liability that cannot be excluded under Bulgarian or EU law, such as liability for intent or gross negligence.
11. Stopping and ending
You can stop playing at any time, and delete your characters or your whole account yourself in Settings (see how to delete your account). Deleting your account deletes every character on it and what you bought with it; App Store and Google Play purchases can be restored on a new account with Restore purchases.
We may end the game with reasonable notice given in the game. We stop selling before we do.
12. Changes to these terms
We will announce changes to these terms in the game and update the “Last updated” date above. For material changes, we will give you notice before they take effect.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Bulgaria. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live.
If something goes wrong, please write to us first; most problems are quicker to solve that way.
14. Your privacy
How we handle your data is explained in our Privacy Policy.
15. Contact
